Eastward Distraction – Day Three
By Thom | May 22, 2008
to Phelps, NY
Today started off pretty dreary and cold. It did rain a touch last night,
but not enough to have any signifant effects.
I froze most of the way though Ohio, Pennslyvania and New York.
Only later did the sun brake open from and start to warm me up.
It was a large coffee and tea day to keep warm and was pretty wired along
the heavily-congested areas.
We hit just a touch of rain throughout the day but I kept a good eye on
sky and watched as cloud merged together ahead of me. Driving through
wine country this morning on a very slow highway 62 as it meandered along
the lake shore. We eventually bit the bullet and hit the Interstate and had
to pay the toll to get to Buffalo, NY to get a stamp at a National Historic Site.
BUMMMER!!!
We got some info about Niagra Falls from a lady who clearly thought I was
deaf from riding on my bike. She told us that it was nearly $10 to park
anywhere near the falls, so we parked the bike at a gas station, took everything
off and took the car up to see the falls. 8 bucks got me in to see the falls and
take a couple of pictures, get sprayed on, and freeze yet again. I should have
listened to bring along a sweater![]()
We took the toll road out of Buffalo and tried to set ourselves up for hitting the
Woman's Rights National Historic Site tomorrow morning.
On with the pictures:
